Do the listed dimensions include wheels and handles?

We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 19.5 x 13.75 x 9 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 22 x 14 x 9 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

Will this carry-on fit my airline's size limits?

Yes, for the major U.S. airlines: this bag is sizer-bin tested and fits the carry-on sizers and overhead bins on mainline aircraft of the major U.S. carriers. Its overall dimensions sit within the commonly published limits of the major U.S. carriers.

Does expanding the bag change whether it fits airline sizers?

Yes. The zippered expansion adds extra packing depth, and a fully expanded bag may not fit a strict airline sizer. If your airline enforces its sizer, board with the bag unexpanded and save the expansion for the trip home or checked segments.

Is it water resistant?

Yes. The exterior fabric has a DuraGuard® coating that resists water and stains, so it holds up to rainy sidewalks and daily wear.

How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?

Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? How do I clean and care for it?

Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

"Very happy with this purchase! I was looking for a reliable carry-on suitcase that would work for weekend trips and longer international trips, and that I could manage independently. The Maxlite met or exceeded all these expectations; it is extremely light, and I was able to carry it up stairs and lift it into overhead bins by myself pretty easily. The wheels and handle move very smoothly and allow the suitcase to easily maneuver through an airport, the subway, and cobblestone streets. The suitcase can fit more than it looks; using packing cubes, I managed to fit a week's worth of clothes and two pairs of shoes without needing to use the extender. The bag fit easily as a carry-on on two trans-Atlantic flights, but may have trouble fitting onto some smaller regional jets. Overall, it is a great suitcase, especially for the price, and I am excited to use it more in the future!"
